What to Know About Invisalign
May 1, 2022 2:33 amAt Ryan Dental, we understand that crooked teeth and bite alignment issues can negatively impact your confidence. That’s why we’re proud to offer orthodontic treatments like Invisalign® that can straighten your smile and boost your self-esteem.
We’ve put together this guide to help you decide whether Invisalign might be the right option for you:
- Invisalign Is Customized for Your Mouth
- You Can Still Enjoy Your Favorite Foods
- Treatment Time Is About 12 to 18 Months
- Aligners Are Easy to Clean & Care For
- Made of Clear, Smooth Plastic
We don’t offer one-size-fits-all treatments, and Invisalign is no exception. Each new aligner is custom-designed for your mouth to gently guide your teeth into their optimal positions.
You’ll be free to enjoy your favorite snacks and drinks. Unlike traditional metal braces that come with dietary restrictions, Invisalign aligners are removable. You’ll remove them when eating or drinking anything other than water. The only caveat is you’ll need to brush your teeth before putting your trays back in.
After your consultation with Dr. Ryan, we’ll be able to provide a better estimate for how long your treatment should take. Keep in mind that you must wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, or else your treatment time will be extended.
Invisalign aligners are easy to remove and clean – just pop them out of your mouth and clean them according to our instructions. When you’re not wearing them, store them in their case (which should also be cleaned regularly).
While modern metal braces are sleeker than ever before, they can’t match Invisalign. The aligners are made of plastic that is clear and smooth. This material won’t irritate your cheeks and lips, and will not be very noticeable when people look at your teeth.
